Christmas Fayre raises £2000 for valued dementia services

Tuesday, November 22, 2016

It was lovely to see so many people attend the Christmas Fayre at the Bradbury Wellbeing Centre, Haviland House, on Saturday 19 November.

Centre staff and volunteers had put in hours of work to make the event extra special for those using the dementia respite services and their families. The atmosphere was light-hearted and jovial with everyone mingling, chatting and enjoying the fabulous cakes baked by volunteers many of whom give their time during the week to support staff.

There was an amazing raffle and tombola with dozens of prizes, all of which had been donated. Craft volunteers had knitted soft cuddly snowmen, hedgehogs and fluffy tree decorations and there was a superb selection of hand-decorated Christmas cakes. Live music saw people on the dance floor and joining in with well-known songs.

It was very rewarding for everyone to learn that the event had raised nearly £2000 to support very valued dementia services run by Guild Care in Worthing.

We have a long tradition of supporting people living with dementia and their carers.
