Monday, August 07, 2017

On Wednesday 16 August 2017, Field Place Manor House is playing host to an Active Aged 50+ Live Well Worthing afternoon.

The event, being held at the site at the Boulevard, Worthing, is being organised by South Downs Leisure, in partnership with the Worthing Dementia Action Alliance; including the Alzheimer’s Society, Guild Care and many other organisations. The idea is to bring an afternoon of fun for the over 50’s, and is especially open to those affected by dementia and their support network.

There will be a host of activities on offer throughout the afternoon with professional coaches, including: Tennis, Pilates, Bowls, Tai Shi, Petanque, Wellbeing MOT’s, Audiology and more. There will also be sessions with the Coastal Prevention Assessment Team, who are health professionals that can discuss individual health needs and can recommend or signpost other services.

Organiser of the event, Sally Honey, commented: “We are really looking forward to welcoming the community  along to this special afternoon and expect everyone to leave having had a fun but relaxing time – Field Place Manor house is a beautiful tranquil site and perfect for this type of event.”

Visitors are encouraged to bring a picnic with them to enjoy in the 8 acres of picturesque award winning grounds, however teas and coffees will be on offer for free throughout the afternoon.
