Celebration at Keystone Centre

Tuesday, November 29, 2016

We joined Breathing Spaces and friends on Tuesday to celebrate the progress that the Community Interest Company, their clients, volunteers and residents have made to the Woodland Garden at the Maybridge Keystone Centre in Raleigh Way, Worthing.

Their new heated garden shelter styled yurt, was fired-up with a warming woodburning stove and is a real bonus in the cold weather. It will enable Breathing Spaces to continue to operate their therapeutic community programmes during the winter months.

Breathing Spaces run gardening clubs at the Keystone Centre and the Sidney Walter Centre in Worthing which support their range of clients at various stages of dementia. Gardening has a real benefit and these structured sessions help with social interaction, mobility, reduce depression and frustration and are an enjoyable activity while giving carers time for themselves.

It was an enjoyable event, and everyone enjoyed the homemade pizzas hot from the cob oven.

We have a long tradition of supporting people living with dementia and their carers.
