Time Out for Carers (TOFC)

The service provides up to 15 places a day, and includes accessible transport, a hot lunch, therapies, assisted bathing (available at an additional cost) and a wide range of activities that people can choose from eg. exercise sessions, gardening, arts and crafts, music, quizzes and reminiscence sessions, based on the Butterfly Approach to dementia care adopted by Meaningful Care Matters.

The service is usually based at the Bradbury Wellbeing Centre, our purpose built day service in West Worthing, specifically designed for people with dementia. In the short term, the service has been relocated to Methold House, as part of our pandemic contingency plans. Guild Care has a robust, regularly reviewed, risk assessed approach to service delivery, during the pandemic, which is specific to individual service needs, supporting current Government and PHE guidance and balancing risk taking with wellbeing.

Priority is given to people who live in the Worthing area, but will accept people from other parts of West Sussex when they have capacity.
