Do you have a question about dementia? Perhaps you’re concerned about changes in your own, or someone else’s, behaviour? Or maybe you want to find out more about support in your local area? Admiral Nurses can provide specialist practical and emotional support, through their helpline.

It is available 7 days a week 9am-5pm with extended hours on Wednesdays and Thursday until 9pm.

Alzheimer’s National Dementia Helpline – 0300 222 1122

The Alzheimer’s Helpline is for anyone who is affected by dementia or worried about their memory. Trained advisors provide information, support, guidance and signposting to other appropriate organisations.

The Helpline is available 9am-5pm Monday to Friday and 10am-4pm Saturday and Sunday.

Alzheimer’s Talking Point online discussion forum

Talking Point is an online support and discussion forum for anyone affected by dementia. It’s a place to ask for advice, share information, join in discussions and feel supported.

Carers Support West Sussex – 0300 028 8888

Carers Support is for family carers and friend carers. The line is available Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm and Wednesdays 9am – 7pm.

Cruse Bereavement Care National Helpline - 0808 808 1677

Cruse Bereavement Care can support you after the death of someone close. If someone you know has died and you need to talk call them on the above freephone number.

The helpline is open Monday-Friday 9.30-5pm (excluding bank holidays), with extended hours (until 8pm) on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings.

111 is the NHS non-emergency number.

Although not strictly a helpline, this is the first point of contact for Social Care enquiries including support and funding eligibility.

Adult Services have a responsibility to assess the needs of vulnerable adults, including those who fund their own care. This should always be your starting point to get an assessment of an older person’s needs.
